Mahogany Fold Over Pedestal Table with Carved Paw Feet. Early 19th century mahogany pedestal table with a fold over top, richly figured veneers and a particularly handsome carved base. The top opens along the centre and is supported on a substantial turned and reeded pedestal, set above a shaped platform base with carved scroll detail and four boldly modelled paw feet. A small carved roundel to the frieze gives the front a decorative focal point, while the restrained proportions keep the piece elegant rather than overly formal. The mahogany has deepened to a warm reddish brown with attractive variation across the top, and the sculptural base gives the table a strong presence from every angle. Originally designed as a multifunctional drawing room table, it would work well today as an occasional table, games table or compact dining table where something with real period character is wanted.

Condition:Overall good antique condition with general age related wear, marks, scratches and variation to the finish. The top has bowed slightly with age and shows some surface movement and wear, particularly around the central join. There are historic repairs to the veneer around the platform base, together with small areas of loss and lifting visible in places. Further knocks, scuffs and signs of use are present throughout in keeping with the table's age. Please refer closely to the photographs for the condition of the top, veneer repairs and base.
Delivery: 75 flat rate for England and Wales only. This is an economy service with a two-person team, delivering to a ground floor room of choice. Please contact us prior to purchase for deliveries involving stairs, restricted access, Scotland, or if an express service is required.

We offer free cancellation or a full refund on any order prior to dispatch.
Delivery can usually be arranged on a day that suits you — simply leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We offer a flat-rate delivery service of £75 across England & Wales. For deliveries to Scotland, please contact us for a tailored quote due to distance. You are also very welcome to collect your item in person from our warehouse.
Most deliveries are completed within 3–5 working days from dispatch. If you require an expedited service, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
If you would like to delay dispatch for a few weeks, please add a note at checkout and we will happily hold your item. For longer-term storage, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Our delivery service is carried out by a two-person team and includes delivery to your room of choice. This covers up to one flight of stairs. If delivery is required to a second floor or above, please notify us in advance as a £15 surcharge per floor will apply.
Please ensure there is suitable access for delivery. If you have any concerns regarding access, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 30-day returns period. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged or is not as described, we will arrange a free return. For all other returns, please contact us to discuss options.
