Large Oak Cupboard Dresser. Constructed of various 17th Century elements, Profusely carved throughout, the raised back with ten matching panels with lozenge motifs, flower heads and individual carved mask roundels on a stipple ground, the shaped pediment with a conforming mask above two shelves on ring turned leaf carved pillars, the lower part with a parquetry top above pyramidic studs surrounding three frieze drawers and an arched recess flanked by a pair of panel doors with carved flower heads, the floor of the recess with commemorative inlaid monograms and a carved medallion, on a plinth base.
Dimensions: 192cm long x 52cm deep x 28cm deep shelves x 90cm high base x 190cm high to top shelf x 214cm total height.
Condition: The dresser appears to be of composite form and was likely to have been made-up during the nineteenth century when there was a revival of interest in Britain and Europe for early oak furniture.Good solid condition with signs of use and age, minor amounts of woodworm - this has been treated as a precaution.
