Four Antique French Ironstone Hand Painted Blue and White Plates. Set of four antique French ironstone plates, dating to the late 19th or early 20th century, featuring delicate hand-painted blue floral sprigs and fine blue lines around the rims. Beautifully simple in design, the plates have a lovely creamy white glaze and substantial, heavy construction, with thick bases and subtle variations in shape, size and decoration that give each piece its own individual character.A wonderfully understated set of traditional French tableware, perfect for a country kitchen, open dresser or relaxed farmhouse interior. Equally lovely displayed as a decorative group or used for serving.

Condition:Good antique condition with general age related wear, surface scratches, marks, minor staining and imperfections to the glaze. Some discolouration to the unglazed bases and irregular glaze splashes from manufacture. One plate has an area of later touching in to the centre of the plate, visible in the photographs. Slight variations in size, shape and finish between the four plates.
