Early Carved Oak Cabinet. Part 17th century and later carved oak cabinet of composite form incorporating early elements. The boarded top above a carved frieze and a central cupboard enclosed by a door with a carved and fielded door depicting a standing cherub within a floral scroll surround and flanked by shelves and leaf carved square pillar supports, with fielded panels to the rear, on ornate foliate and sea creature carved feet. The item is likely to be of composite form and made-up during the nineteenth century when there was a revival of interest in early oak furniture.

Dimensions: 162cm wide at the feet x 56cm deep x 98cm high.

Condition: Good, solid condition, some evidence of old woodworm in the panel on the back.
