Rugs made in this Border Region are made in town and village workshops and by nomadic tribal groups. Designs are based on or influenced by traditional styles of designs and pattern details as seen in Turkoman tribal rugs from Turkmenistan. Pattern details and motifs display stylised flora and fauna forms drawn geometrically often totemic in style. The colours are traditional to the region with shades of red invariably seen as the background colour.
Dimensions: 227cm x 109cm.
Condition: Some fraying at the ends, minor losses to the pile.
