Japanese Desk. A Japanese late Meiji period ornate carved mahogany writing desk with raised back & Matching Chair. Profusely carved throughout, the raised and stepped back with a carved and pierced dragon cresting above asymmetrical fittings comprising pigeonholes, small drawers and two cupboards, each enclosed by a panel door with foliate carving on a stipple ground, the lower part with carved dragon masks, the arched and pierced frieze with four small drawers, on four dragon mask carved cabriole legs, the metal locks now lacking.

Dimesions: 113cm wide x 62cm deep x 77cm high x 147cm high, 60cm high to the frieze

Condition: Age and signs of use, damage tothe dragon on the back, replacement rear foot.
