Arts and Crafts Ebonised Corner Chair with Rush Seat. Antique Arts and Crafts corner chair dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, angular design with two adjoining spindle backs and a beautifully aged woven rush seat. The dark ebonised finish contrasts with the warm natural tones of the rush, while the gently shaped top rails, elongated turned spindles and pointed uprights give the chair a distinctive architectural quality. The square seat is supported by straight legs joined by simple stretchers, creating an attractive combination of traditional craftsmanship and understated design. A characterful piece that would work equally well as an occasional chair in a bedroom, hallway or country cottage interior.

Condition:Good antique condition with wear consistent with age and use. The dark stained finish displays surface marks, rubbing and small areas of colour loss, particularly around the legs, corners and exposed edges. The woven rush seat has areas of wear and damage, most noticeably towards the centre where some strands have broken or become displaced, leaving a small opening.
Delivery: 75 flat rate for England and Wales only. This is an economy service with a two-person team, delivering to a ground floor room of choice. Please contact us prior to purchase for deliveries involving stairs, restricted access, Scotland, or if an express service is required.

We offer free cancellation or a full refund on any order prior to dispatch.
Delivery can usually be arranged on a day that suits you — simply leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We offer a flat-rate delivery service of £75 across England & Wales. For deliveries to Scotland, please contact us for a tailored quote due to distance. You are also very welcome to collect your item in person from our warehouse.
Most deliveries are completed within 3–5 working days from dispatch. If you require an expedited service, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
If you would like to delay dispatch for a few weeks, please add a note at checkout and we will happily hold your item. For longer-term storage, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Our delivery service is carried out by a two-person team and includes delivery to your room of choice. This covers up to one flight of stairs. If delivery is required to a second floor or above, please notify us in advance as a £15 surcharge per floor will apply.
Please ensure there is suitable access for delivery. If you have any concerns regarding access, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 30-day returns period. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged or is not as described, we will arrange a free return. For all other returns, please contact us to discuss options.
Many of our pieces are vintage or pre-owned, so some signs of wear may be present. We always aim to describe and photograph each item as accurately as possible.
