Antique Anglo Indian Carved Folding Side Table. Late 19th CenturyAnglo Indian carved hardwood side table, with a circular top profusely carved with scrolling floral and foliate decoration surrounding a central brass inlaid floral motif. The folding octagonal base is particularly decorative, with pierced panels intricately carved with trailing vines, leaves and berries, creating a wonderful play of light through the openwork. A richly decorative piece with a warm aged patina, ideal beside an armchair or sofa or as an occasional table. The folding construction is characteristic of Indian export furniture of this type, popular during the late 19th and early 20th century.
Dimensions: 46cm diameter x 48cm high
Condition:In good antique condition with age related wear and patina. One small section of wood above a carved and pierced panel has been replaced, as shown in the photographs.
