Set of Six Antique Keeling & Co Oxford Red Transferware Side Plates.A lovely set of six antique earthenware side plates by Keeling & Co of Burslem, decorated in the Oxford pattern. Each plate has a softly scalloped edge and an intricate red transfer-printed border of scrolling foliage and floral sprays, set against a warm cream ground.The reverse of each plate carries the red Oxford K & Co makers mark together with registered design number 36329. Keeling & Co were well known for their transfer-printed domestic wares during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and this set has a particularly attractive restrained red-and-white palette.
Dimensions: 19cm diameter
Condition:Good antique condition overall with the expected light surface wear, some crazing & discolouration from use. No obvious major damage visible in the photographs. Please refer closely to the images for condition.
