A decorative late 19th century Chinese hardwood plant stand finished in a rich dark lacquer. The square top is decorated with a stylised arrangement of vessels, floral sprays and symbolic objects, while the frieze features delicate gilt bamboo and foliate decoration. Raised on four square-section legs and joined by a lower tier for additional display, this elegant stand works well for plants, ceramics or decorative objects. Presented in solid condition with historic damage and repair to the legs and variation in colour to the finish, particularly across the top.
