Afghan Ensi Rug, Nangahar, East Afghanistan, Wool on Wool Foundation. 20th Century, The red quartered field with columns of lattice based candelabra divided by a vertical column enclosing stylised flora, a central horizontal band enclosing rows of hooked medallions, an ivory inner border enclosing continuous serrated leaves linked by angular vines, a red main border enclosing continuous stars, a charcoal horizontal end band with continuous hooked arches with stylised plants.
