Queen Victoria reigned Great Britain between 1837 and 1901. During this period designers used and modified many ideas but prolifically from the Gothic and Rococo revival styles. Eastern influences were frequently found in Victorian era furniture, as the 19th Century saw the British Empire reach it's peak and extend it's reach across the world. Aesthetic style furniture and art gained popularity in latter part of the 1800s. The Arts and Crafts movement driven by William Morris with it's traditional handcrafted style was an integral part of the era and one of the most sought after Victorian style furniture.
