Stunning Continental Marquetry Chest. Antique oak and marquetry chest, possibly German. Solid walnut and pine to the interior of the chest, the exterior is oak, moulded hinged lid above an arched panel inlaid with a symmetrical display of scrolls flanked by similarly inlaid geometric panels of burr ash, sycamore, walnut and holly, separated and enclosed by banded tapering pilasters with lower geometric cabochons and on compressed bun feet.

Dimensions: 156cm wide 62cm deep x 58cm high.
Condition: Solid condition, age and general wear, some evidence of extinct woodworm to the front and feet - this has been treated as a precaution, some bubbles and minor lifting to the wood on the top of the chest, the timber on the back of the chest has been cut at some point - possibly to gain access to the lock on the inside - the lock has been removed.
Delivery: *£75 Delivery quoted covers England & Wales only. This item will be sent with a pallet delivery firm or a man and van courier. The delivery is kerbside or door to door service. A 2 man service is available please enquire for prices. We aim to dispatch and deliver your item as quickly as possible but the turnaround does vary depending on area and delivery service required. We offer free cancellation or a full refund on any order prior to dispatch.
Delivery can usually be arranged on a day that suits you — simply leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We offer a flat-rate delivery service of £75 across England & Wales. For deliveries to Scotland, please contact us for a tailored quote due to distance. You are also very welcome to collect your item in person from our warehouse.
Most deliveries are completed within 3–5 working days from dispatch. If you require an expedited service, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
If you would like to delay dispatch for a few weeks, please add a note at checkout and we will happily hold your item. For longer-term storage, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Our delivery service is carried out by a two-person team and includes delivery to your room of choice. This covers up to one flight of stairs. If delivery is required to a second floor or above, please notify us in advance as a £15 surcharge per floor will apply.
Please ensure there is suitable access for delivery. If you have any concerns regarding access, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 30-day returns period. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged or is not as described, we will arrange a free return. For all other returns, please contact us to discuss options.
