Vintage Studio Pottery Bowl with Abstract Glaze. Vintage studio pottery bowl with an expressive abstract glaze in earthy red, ochre, cream and black tones. The shallow circular form has a softly irregular handmade quality, with the interior decoration applied in broad areas that bleed and feather into one another to create an almost landscape like effect. The exterior is largely unglazed, revealing the pale buff clay body and simple raised foot. Unmarked to the underside, we have been unable to establish a maker or precise date. The combination of restrained form and dramatic glaze gives it a particularly sculptural quality, making it equally appealing displayed on a shelf, table or sideboard.

Condition:Vintage condition with general age-related surface wear and minor irregularities from manufacture. There is a chip to the underside of the rim.
