An impressive large scale ceramic sculpture by acclaimed Cornish artist Ken Spooner, formed as a substantial spherical vessel with richly textured surface decoration. The work is incised with Spooner's characteristic visual language of abstract symbols, geometric forms, spirals and linear markings beneath a softly weathered white, pink & green patinated glaze.The piece demonstrates the artist's long standing fascination with archaeology, mythology and the transformative qualities of clay. Its powerful sculptural presence is enhanced by the tactile carved surface and subtle tonal variations, creating a work that rewards viewing from every angle.
