Large contemporary seascape depicting Southampton Water, believed to be viewed from the Hythe waterfront towards Southampton docks.The expansive composition captures a cruise liner beyond the pier with a gull swooping over the water in the foreground. Particularly lovely use of light across the water and a vast sweeping sky in soft blues, lilacs and pinks.Signed with the initials HT and dated 2012 lower right.Substantial decorative painting at 124cm square, presented in a simple white painted frame.
