Pair of Vintage Inidan Silvered Pidha Chairs.A striking pair of pidha chairs, traditional Indian low seats with a backrest clad in embossed silvered metal, 20th century. Each has a shaped, arched back with pierced lattice-work panelling and repousse floral decoration, set with oval polychrome enamel panels in blue and green to the crest, uprights and front legs. The turned, tapering legs are similarly clad and decorated, with the dark silk upholstered seat pads retained. Traditionally given as part of a bride's dowry and used for everyday and ceremonial seating, pidha chairs make striking, low-slung display or occasional pieces in a contemporary interior.
Dimensions: 60cm wide x 57cm deep x 24cm seat height x 80cm back height
Condition:Genuine age related wear throughout, with tarnishing and minor losses to the silvered cladding in places, consistent with age and handling. Enamel panels intact with light wear. Upholstery pads are original but worn, marked and split in places recovering recommended. Structurally sound and stable.
Delivery: 100 flat rate for England and Wales only. This is an economy service with a two person team, delivering to a ground floor room of choice. Please contact us prior to purchase for deliveries involving stairs, restricted access, Scotland, or if an express service is required.

We offer free cancellation or a full refund on any order prior to dispatch.
Delivery can usually be arranged on a day that suits you — simply leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We offer a flat-rate delivery service of £100 across England & Wales. For deliveries to Scotland, please contact us for a tailored quote due to distance. You are also very welcome to collect your item in person from our warehouse.
Most deliveries are completed within 3–5 working days from dispatch. If you require an expedited service, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
If you would like to delay dispatch for a few weeks, please add a note at checkout and we will happily hold your item. For longer-term storage, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Our delivery service is carried out by a two-person team and includes delivery to your room of choice. This covers up to one flight of stairs. If delivery is required to a second floor or above, please notify us in advance as a £15 surcharge per floor will apply.
Please ensure there is suitable access for delivery. If you have any concerns regarding access, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 30-day returns period. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged or is not as described, we will arrange a free return. For all other returns, please contact us to discuss options.
Many of our pieces are vintage or pre-owned, so some signs of wear may be present. We always aim to describe and photograph each item as accurately as possible.
