Carved Wooden Folk Toy Blacksmiths at the Anvil.A charming hand-carved wooden folk toy, depicting two figures as blacksmiths striking alternately at a central anvil. Mounted on a shaped, hand-worked wooden base decorated with poker work with a projecting handle. The mechanism is operated by pushing one end to make the figures' hammer arms strike in turn. A well-known genre of traditional folk toy, hand-carved with good naive character and a strong worn patina.

Condition:General historic marks, nicks and small losses commensurate with age and handling/play. Structurally sound.
