Victorian Aesthetic Movement Writing Desk. Good quality late Victorian small writing desk, walnut, mahogany and banded satinwood, the superstructure with a pair of bevelled glazed doors centred by a niche, above a fall front door on sliding plateau, enclosing a tooled and gilt writing surface, a small drawer and pigeonholes, the lower section with a glazed door enclosing a shelf, the sides with blind fretwork panels on tapering feet.

Dimensions:112cm wide including flaps x 82cm wide excluding flaps x 48cm deep x 131cm high x 74cm high x 34cm deep x 73cm deep.

Condition: Overall good condition, general age and signs of use, some damage to the pigeon holes inside and wear to the leather skiver, damage to the bottom edge of the fall front, originally fitted with a pair of small corner brackets which have been removed, some fading to the original velvet lining.
