Day Sharman, published by Thomas Nelson and Sons in 1952 and illustrated throughout by Drake Brookshaw. The book gathers together a collection of traditional Devon stories, legends and local folklore, ranging from Dartmoor tales and curious characters to old superstitions and regional sayings. The simple black and white illustrations give it plenty of period charm, while the dark blue cloth binding with gilt lettering and monogram makes it an attractive little volume in its own right. A nice addition to a collection of West Country books, folklore or vintage local history.

Condition:Good vintage condition with general wear consistent with age. The blue cloth boards have light rubbing, marks and minor wear, particularly around the corners and spine. There is scattered foxing and age-related spotting to the pages, most noticeably to the opening leaves and margins, but the contents remain clear and readable. No dust jacket present. Please refer closely to the photographs for condition.
