18th Century Oak Mule Chest.A good oak mule chest, 18th century, of panelled construction with a hinged lid opening to a deep well, above two short and one long drawer. The front is fielded-panelled in four sections, with a further two fielded panels to each drawer front, all with moulded edges. Brass teardrop handles and pierced escutcheons feature on the drawers. Raised on shaped bracket feet. The chest has good rich colour and patina.
Dimensions: 141cm wide x 61cm deep x 92cm high
Condition:Genuine age related wear and colour throughout, consistent with the period. Hinges to the lid are later replacements, later straps to isnide of the lid to help reinforce a split. Handles and escutcheons are also later replacements. Interior of the well shows old paper remnants cosmetic only, does not affect structure. General historic marks, nicks and small losses commensurate with age and use. Structurally sound and stable.

Delivery can usually be arranged on a day that suits you — simply leave a note at checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We offer a flat-rate delivery service of £100 across England & Wales. For deliveries to Scotland, please contact us for a tailored quote due to distance. You are also very welcome to collect your item in person from our warehouse.
Most deliveries are completed within 3–5 working days from dispatch. If you require an expedited service, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
If you would like to delay dispatch for a few weeks, please add a note at checkout and we will happily hold your item. For longer-term storage, please contact us in advance to discuss options.
Our delivery service is carried out by a two-person team and includes delivery to your room of choice. This covers up to one flight of stairs. If delivery is required to a second floor or above, please notify us in advance as a £15 surcharge per floor will apply.
Please ensure there is suitable access for delivery. If you have any concerns regarding access, feel free to contact us before placing your order.
For your peace of mind, we provide a 30-day returns period. In the unlikely event that an item arrives damaged or is not as described, we will arrange a free return. For all other returns, please contact us to discuss options.
