The frames are worked with bold ornamental detail throughout, from the patterned front legs and carved lower rails to the scrolling crest elements that give the chairs their distinctive silhouette. The seats and backs are upholstered in a faded crimson velvet and finished with multicoloured tassel fringe, lending the pair a suitably theatrical, almost baroque character. The combination of dark walnut, carved detail and aged textile gives them a strong decorative presence without feeling overly formal. Ideal as occasional chairs in a bedroom, hallway or dressing room, or simply as a pair of statement pieces in a layered interior.

Dimensions: 45cm wide x 40cm deep x 50cm seat height x 109cm high back

Condition:Good antique condition with general age related wear throughout.
